Nation Remembers Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi on His 66th Death Anniversary

gandhiNew Delhi, Wednesday, January 29 – All the countrymen on Thursday fondly remembered ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi on his 66th death anniversary. Several programs have been scheduled today wherein topmost leaders are expected to arrive at Rajghat, to pay homage to the great leader, who always chose the path of non-violence for getting the freedom.

The President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and newly appointed chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal are expected to pay floral tributes at Gandhi’s memorial in Rajghat in the early hours today.

A two-minute silence will also be observed at the venue and in educational institutes in memory of Mahatma Gandhi. To honor his inputs for the rise of common man, a gun salute will also be given. Devotional songs will be sung by the youngsters having melodious voice. On the 66th death anniversary, the entire nation pays respect to the greatest leader, who imparted major role in developing equality and brotherhood in the society.
